We offer a professional spray finish on all of our furniture.
"Spray paint is applied to material using high pressure air, mixed with paint particles, allowing to achieve consistent and smooth finish throughout the material."
A spray finish is not just the way the paint is applied to the wood, it is the whole process from start to finish - which is how the finish can be perfected.
Although we offer on-site spraying, we try to do all spray work in our workshop as that is where the best finish is guaranteed.
PREPARATION - Preparation is key when applying a spray finish to wood. This is why we make sure all of our preparation is done precisely - this includes sanding, edging and filling.
PRIMING - When spraying MDF it is vital to use the correct primer to ensure the perfect finish. The primer we predominantly use is a solvent based primer which helps to flatten the fibres in the MDF. Between coats of primer the workpiece is sanded with a 400 grit pad to give it a nice smooth finish - ready for a top coat.
TOP COAT - Top coats are available in all colours imaginable. Options of sheens are between 10% and 90%, 10% being a matt finish and 90% being high gloss. Once all the preparation has been done correctly this is the fun bit, seeing the workpiece transform.
